It would be a honor to be apart of the National Honor Society at Turner High School. The National Honor Society is a group of students that represent themselves with quality leadership, character, service, and scholarship. Ever since I entered high school, I have exemplified the Four Pillars in all facets of my life. I will continue the positive image I have built myself and have a great impact on others.
Leadership is one of the many qualities that makes me who I am. As a student, as well as an athlete, I am committed to being a quality leader. During hockey season, I always take initiative to lead stretches, organize team bonding events, and offer suggestions for the best of the team. In addition, I go above and beyond what is expected. My main focus on volunteering is to help and/or improve other individuals lives. Whether it’s a small thing like shoveling elderly neighbors driveways during the winter or a bigger thing like running youth group at the local church and leading prayers. Not only do the people I help get joy from it, but helping others surely puts joy in my life too. Also, with the knowledge I have acquired through high school, tutoring others is something I enjoy doing because helping others understand something difficult is very important. During school, assisting teachers with going to grab printed papers or picking up excess garbage in the cafeteria after lunch are many of the things I do to improve the school and the people in it such as students and faculty staff. Like my dad always says, life isn’t about bettering yourself, it’s about offering your skills and traits to better the community and the people in …show more content…
Being a role model comes with having good character. Being a role model to the people around me is something I attempt to be. Taking other people's feelings and well being into consideration is something I do every day. Not only does my good character show in the school, but it is also show during sports. I portray outstanding sportsmanship by following the athletic code. As a committed student-athlete I can take constructive criticism very well. This criticism has positively affected me and shaped me to who I am today. I always try to demonstrate good character through honesty, poise, and reliability. In addition, I show concern for others and greatly contribute to society as any good citizen would. My great character is shown through my academic achievements as well as through the relationships I have built with my peers, family, and other individuals closely tied to my
I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school.
The National Junior Honor Society is a very respected and prestigious organization that I would be glad to be a part of. The students involved exemplify scholarship, leadership, service, character, and knowledge. All of which are traits that are incredibly important in my own life. I feel that each student with the privilege to commit to this foundation should devote some time and effort to those qualities. Scholarship has been a major part of my life since elementary school.
I believe the National Honor Society is a national symbol for good deeds, class, and intelligence. I would be honored to be inducted and be a member of an organization that represents service and intelligence. I believe both of those attributes help define who I am today and who I want to be tomorrow.

The National Honor Society is a goal every student dreams of, often from their very first day of high school. I have been hoping for and working towards the opportunity to even write this application since the beginning of last year, and now that it comes time to finally put pen to paper (or finger to key in this case) I find it hard to express what an honor it is to be able to apply to this prestigious society. The National Honor Society sets a standard of achievement every student should strive to attain. This standard demands an aptitude for scholarship, highly capable leadership abilities, strong personal character, and devotion to serving and helping others.
I wish to take the time to give thanks for this impeccable opportunity in applying for the highly sought after National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to embarking on this journey since I heard about this organization freshman year. I am truly elated to be one of the many students that qualifies, as I know the standards of excellence and character that must be exemplified and met.
As a student in her sophomore year, I am still learning about what I can do and what I want to do. Although I am young, my mother always told me that it is never too early to start thinking about the future, which is why it is an honor to be able to apply for the membership of being part of National Honor Society. I have always loved challenges no matter what the result because nothing is equal to the experience of trying. I take the things I have learned from my past experiences and use them as a guide to help me in the future. I haven't ever once stopped to give up if I encountered an obstacle, but rather embraced it and thought of ways to overcome them.
I would be an excellent choice to be a member of the National Junior Honor Society because I show service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The National Honor Society is a very prestigious organization that I would love to be a part of. It was an honor to be nominated as a candidate. I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I have always wanted to be a member of the National Honor Society. As I look back over the years and think of the times I have attended the ceremonies and saw all the awards the members received, I recall saying to myself “That’s going to be me one day.”. I asked my teachers about all the requirements that had to be met to be a National Honor Society member and I made it my main goal to meet each and every one.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I grew up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in the homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
National Honor Society plays great roles when colleges chose students. I want to continue my education after High School therefore it’s important for me to be part of Nation Honor Society. I would be a valuable member to NHS because I have the ability to set examples and exceed expectations in academics. I am in clubs and sports so I know how to work with others and help them if they need it and I have the leadership skills to help other because I used to go to telemetry schools to help out little kids and translate for them. I always devote myself to helping others as much as I can. I suppose I attribute being a part of such a tight-knit family as my own to play a significant role in my desire to help others in their times of need, as my family has always done for each other. Thus, I make it a point to constantly volunteer in my school and community. By doing so, over my four years of high school I have accumulated over 400 service learning hours. I am an active participant in various community service-oriented extracurricular activities and organizations. I am a member of many such clubs like National Honors Society, Beta Club, Key Club, Human Relations Club, Student Leadership, and HOPE Club. Of those, I am president of National Honors Society, treasurer of
A common misconception about volunteering is that it only helps the cause. Often times that aspect is the only part that is highlighted when the topic of donating time comes up. There is a different side of volunteering though. Many volunteers donate their time to help better the community they live in and the people that live in it. When they choose to do this they not only help others but they are also helping better themselves. Volunteering benefits a person by building connections with peers, improving family life, expanding career skills, overcoming self doubt, having lasting life impressions, and creating new opportunities.
Volunteering is an important contributor to our society. It is also a great opportunity to learn different skills, especially young people, and they will become a part of who you are. Your future employers will thank you for it, as will any college or university that you decide to apply too. It is also a perfect way for everyone to meet different people and experience different things. Volunteering not only actively will help people; it also helps the environment. Most of all, it allows you to become a better person for what you have
