1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Definition and Description:
Rugby league is a contract sport and it takes a team to play this sport and there is a lot of running tackling. It’s form of player in a team a thirteen. The goal of the sport is to try a get threw the opposite teams defence to score a try at the other end of the rugby field and don’t let the other team threw your defence and to try and slow the play down so your team can get back on side and you have to be back 10 metre every set when your on defence but when you attacking you can stand where ever you want just not in front of the ball play you always have to be behind the person with the ball if not its called a ford pass which isn’t aloud so you will have to hand the ball over to the other team. One try is worth 6 point’s and a conversion ( kick the ball threw the goal post) is worth 2 point’s. The game goes for 80 minutes 40 minutes each half or some times when it hot we have a bit more breaks so we don’t get heat stress so we play 20 minute for 4 set. Rugby league is played all in Australia and new Zealand and in England but they call it super league in England.

Because not long after, sophomore year in high school I got my first concussion by played two-hand touch football. Each summer when I was young, my mom would sign up for me and my brother to try out different sports. And one of the summer, my mom told us we are going to play a sport called rugby. When I first started to play rugby, I didn’t know what this sport was about. First day of practice, the field was filled a few puddle of mug because it was raining the day before. Therefore, we all try to avoid to get ourselves dirty by avoiding the muggy spot. As we were learning how to pass the ball and running around with the ball in our hands. The coach stopped us and tell us all to roll ourselves into the puddle of mug, because he see us all are afraid of getting dirty. He also tell us that if we want to play this sport, we can’t be afraid of getting dirty. That day I found out that rugby is a very interesting sport and also very dirty. It is played on a field but the athletes seem more like gladiators fighting for blood in the arena for the amusement of their fans. The sport has changed drastically over the years into an event unlike any other, from gaining fans to implementing new rules and regulations in order to keep players safe.
Playing representative rugby allowed me to share my enthusiasm for the sport with others who share the same passion. I was encouraged to try out for the Fraser Valley team, and sequentially, the U16 BC coaches selected me to play for BC. It was a unique experience playing with the opposition instead of against them. During the school season, I only viewed them as competition, as obstacles standing in the way of victory. However, as our team played together, I undertook the initiative to break the lines that separated the team. Soon enough, we did not segregate by our school or our region, we opened our mindsets. Thereupon competitors became teammates and rivals became comrades, brought together by a sport we all love. Throughout the weeks, we endeavored together and the pack quickly flowed into a harmonious unit; we set aside every difference and every grudge, we became the epitome of a team, and we won Nationals. I believe all of us can apply the same philosophy in any aspect in our life. It is not an easy road; you do not learn from success, you do not learn from awards and accolades. The training and practices required to play professional football are intense. You have to wear uncomfortable pads and helmets and endure grueling practices in the heat of the summer and you have to lift weights every day (Green 174). You have to train no matter what position you play. What’s important about is how the position works and how it contributes to the game. Young boys must join high school football team, the road to football star begins in high school.
Being a part of a team sport shows members commitment and dedication to an activity. It allows the team member to learn commitment not only in team sports, but overall in life as well. Going to practices, games and meetings, and showing dedication to a team that one is part of is vital. Athletes build character through their participation in sports.
