My Personal Hero
“Don't take life too seriously or you'll never come out of it alive.” Bugs Bunny. My hero is my dad Hans Morgan he’s a relatively short man with a receding hairline. Personality wise he is funny yet firm and will get the job done he is almost never angry unless it is something serious but he is fun to be around no matter what. He is my hero because he lives life like it's a soccer game have lots of fun and work hard and everything will turn out alright. We will begin with his school years he took school very seriously and always did his best no matter what and strategy worked he always got A’s and even found time for all of his homework between the farm work and soccer. when he got to high school the same thing happened with his grades the only thing that was different was he tried out for the high school soccer team freshman year and he was placed on JV (junior varsity) but he worked as hard as he could and by the end of the year he was starting on the varsity team as a freshman. After high school he went to western Michigan on a scholarship for soccer and did extremely well at the end of college he had a master's degree in math and had met his future wife my mom.

So he joined a professional team in Australia and in the process made lots of life long friends but once he came back soccer wasn't done with him. He got a job at Olivet College as the women's soccer coach he stayed there for a while and had all three of his children during the time that he worked there he had a lot of fun doing all sorts of soccer camps but nothing last forever and he wanted to move on so he started taking online college classes and got an engineering degree so he retired from Olivet after he got his degree to search for a new job always working but having fun the whole

What is "The Hero's Journey" and why is it so widely used? In short "The Hero's Journey" is a pattern narrative driven by an archetype hero who finds him/herself newly gifted with extraordinary powers/magical items and goes on a symbolic journey to right a wrong or vanquish an enemy returning home changed forever. And "The Hero's Journey" is so popular because it works. Every person can see themselves as a Harry Potter or a Katniss. A well-developed hero is easy to identify with and root for. Who is a hero? In contemporary times, usage of the term has become somewhat of a cliché. Over the years, the term “hero” has become representative of a wide variety of individuals, each possessing differing traits. Some of the answers put forth by my colleagues (during our in-class discussion on heroism) as to whom they consider heroes pointed to celebrities, athletes, teachers and family members. Although the occupations differed, each of their heroes bore qualities that my classmates perceived as extraordinary, whether morally or physically. Nonetheless, Webster’s defines “hero” as “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” Thus, it is worth considering that individuals become heroes relative to the situation with which they’re faced.
According to google.com a hero is someone who “is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievments, or noble equalities.” (google.com). For example, superman , superman is an all time american classic modern hero who is admired for his courage and for saving earth multiple times from super villains. Another example of a hero is Beowulf. Beowulf was created around 1000 AD and was known far and wide throughout the lands for his selflessness,bravery, and courage .
What is a hero? To our understanding, a hero is a person who is admired for great or brave acts. Joseph Campbell, an American mythologist, and writer wrote The Odyssey. In this novel he talks about The Heroes Journey which are twelve different stages of adventure known as the Ordinary World, the Call to Adventure, Refusal of the Call, Meeting the Mentor, Crossing the Threshold, Test/Allies/Enemies, Approach to the Inmost Cave, Ordeal, Reward, the Road Back, Resurrection, and the Return With The Elixir. The Odyssey is about a legendary hero named Odysseus, who fought among the Greeks in the battle of Troy and went through the stages of The Heroes Journey. Odysseus lived in Ithaca, Northwest of Greece, with his wife Penelope and son Telemachus.
Assignment details: Analyze the components of the hero’s journey. Basically, support the argument that Jaws follows the epic hero cycle. Name specific examples from the movie and connect them to the hero’s journey. However, this is not a plot summary. You are not retelling the story, but selecting examples to support the analysis.

Heroes of today's world come from all different places. Heroes are firefighters, police officers, and doctors. They can also be as simple as a teacher, a neighbor, or even another student who cares. You never know where a hero may emerge. In Ancient Greek mythology simple heroes strive to become epic heroes.
Over the course of history the definition of what makes a hero has made many changes. Beowulf, Superman, and firefighters are all examples of heroes, but they are very different when broken down. Today’s society defines a hero by his values, his strength, and his journey.
I am not going to say Superman or Spiderman. I'm going to say, “My hero is my Baba, Christine Kyriakou or you can call her my great grandmother.” Though she may not have a cape or superpowers she is always doing the right thing. My great great grandfather, Scoyan Kyriakou, lived in Macedonia Greece.
When the Thomas Edison was a child he came to home one day from school and gave a paper to his mother which was given him by his teacher.His mother open that paper and and read the paper. After reading paper her eyes filled with tears. Thomas asked his mother about what was written in the paper.
Throughout history there have been countless examples of people and actions that society deemed heroic. These heroes were not defined by age, gender, or race but by the traits they share. The three qualities that best demonstrate heroism and inspire others to make a difference are selflessness, determination, and courage. Selflessness is a key ingredient for a hero because putting someone else in front of their interests is the only way to do make a change for the better in this world.
My mother is my hero because she has taught me to treat others with compassion, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She taught me that those values were important in the best way, by living her own life according to them. She didn’t just tell me about values she felt were important, she lived by them. I have always admired my mother and felt so blessed to have her in my life. I know I am a better person for having her for a mother.
My hero is my dad. He is my superman. He is my leader. My dad is a dad who motivates me and keeps me going, even when I want to give up. He is there for me when I don’t want to try anymore and he always keeps me going. Of all the heroes in the world, my dad is at the top of the list.
"The real hero is measured not by the size of his strength, but by the size of his heart". When I was a kid a lot of people asked me who my hero was and I often responded with a name of some celebrity who performed a cool stunt or had strength. As time passed by and I started understanding things, I understood hero is not someone who has strength, power, skills. Infact hero is someone who has a bigger heart, someone who has more love to give than strength, or someone who is skilled on thinking for the good of others. A hero can be recognized by the work he has done, by the sacrifices he has made, and how he changed the life of a different person and that is exactly what my dad did, He changed my life.
