My Life Is The Most Important Part Of Your Life

Confucius. This quote means a lot to me because I consider getting my first job was the most important part of my life. But to many people accomplishing a task like this is just a minor event in their life; but to me it’s a huge step into the journey of adulthood.

I remember my first interview like it was yesterday, being that it was the most embarrassing interviews I had ever done. It was a summer rainy Saturday evening. I was in a bottom up polo shirt, black slacks, and I tie, I couldn’t look any more nerdy in my life.

I opened the door and was immediately greeted by dozens of curious eyes. It seemed like they were judging my every move as I wondered about looking for a place to sit. As I sat down I made a quick scan of the room and its inhabitants, and I came to the conclusion that I was overdressed. Must of the teenagers attire there were gym short, and a basic t-shirt. One person looked like he just came out of bed; he had on a white tank top, sweatpants, and a pair of old sandals. It may have seemed that I was at the advantage being that my dress code was proper for a job interview; but to me I thought I made a huge mistake dressing the way I did.
