My first full college semester was an interesting experience. I’ve never had a college semester with four classes to attend and finish. My classes this quarter consisted of conceptual storytelling, math, English, and perspective drawing. Balancing four classes and their individual workload was extremely challenging. However, once I got a good schedule down I was balancing work like a professional. Throughout the eleven lengthy weeks of taking these four courses, I have learned a lot about my field. Math was the easiest class to finish up. While it did feel like I was taking high school math, it was a good refresher for my mind. The teacher was very helpful when I was stuck on troublesome equations. Alongside math, English was another easy class for me. Writing papers and calculating math equations are simple for me, but when it comes to hand drawing and writing stories; things get tricky. In my conceptual storytelling class, I learned how to write scripts, short stories, and fairytales. The class and the teacher were great, and the class environment was calm. The hardest part in the class was toning down my own creation, “Space Cops”. My own creation was tough to incorporate in the class because it’s a very long story. Not only that I’m sort of protective of my creation. The class taught me about creative control and how to write stories that are small but very powerful. Perspective drawing is another difficult class to handle. The teacher was tough, and the assignments were huge. However, my teacher can be fun at times. One time in the end of October, she took us on a field trip to the Mcnae Art Museum to see the Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas exhibit. It was a sight to see, all the props and puppets used in the film to give us inspiration for our midterm
