Life sets out many pathways to decide your future. It can give you experiences and certain experiences in your life can impact you a lot. Today I’m going to talk about how moving to America has impacted me is that the fact that the American culture has changed me completely. One obvious reason American culture has changed me is the fact that I am speaking English right now. Learning English took me awhile even tho I’m still not fluent in it.
Before, going directly to the point how one event changed my life, I just want to point that I was born and raised up in India. I studied there almost from Pre-k up till 10th grade. There were times in which I did not want to go to school, times I did not want to face humiliation, time I hated everyone around even myself, However, as time passed, I soon discovered that there wasn 't a better place I could have moved to. In America, My journey across the dark tunnel has taught me a priceless lesson: "Confidence is the result of hours and days and weeks and years of constant work and dedication." I have used this lesson in my adapting to a new environment as different as the USA. In my past 3 years in high school, I’ve learned a very important lesson: never let your background, your mistakes, or your fears stop you from becoming the person that you want to be. I know that everyone here, with me today, has the potential to do something great. In conclusion, I want to say to all of you please do not walk away from your difficult time or do not hide from your reality, just go with the flow and as the time passes, you will be able to get out of your difficult time and you will be able to identify yourself as I did. While, facing the reality you have to go through many difficult situations, but you should not give up and just move on. Living in such a completely different environment is the biggest challenge of my life. Honestly, I really enjoy the beautiful and quiet environment here. All that I am today is what I have learned after moving here. Every experience I have had has been valuable. Every person I have met has helped me grow.
