“After we moved into an integrated school everything changed in a big way.” That's what he grandpa said as he first moved into an integrated school for the first time. Growing up he was fairly poor. His dad worked very hard “Daddy worked hard and had to because as a black man nothing came easy.” His mom worked just as hard maybe even harder to make sure her family always had food on there plait, and she went out of her way to make sure that they were happy. Schools were segregated all the way up until 1954 he was in the sixth/seventh grade(“Integration: 1954 to 1963” 2017).
