Margin call is movie about a company that is on wall, the Lehman’s Brothers. Lehman’s Brother is a big company that has been around for more than 70 years and is big on Wall Street ,it is an investment company, what the movie shows us is the fall of this great company and the ethical/unethical decisions that was taken by the people within the company.
When they realize the company is going to fall they try to sell of shares of the company’s assets and fire employees to try keep the company a float but it does not work and the company gets liquidated. Market Capitalization (Cap) is concept which were they take the market value of a company’s shares that are outstanding. It is calculated by using the stock price and multiplying it with the amount of all the outstanding shares and you will then be given your Market Cap
For example if ABC Goods had 1 million shares and they all cost R10 their market cap would cost R10million that is basically the cost of the company and how much you can offer to buy the company and the shareholders should be okay with it and it can also refer to the total amount of the stock exchange
