For a community to totally battle a major problem, I believe working together in a collaborative way and putting together all available resources will be the most effective. I believe that with the right measures heart disease and stroke can be effectively managed in Mott Haven as well as United States as a whole. The government would play a huge in the control of Heart disease and stroke buy providing policies that cater or in the interest of the healthcare needs of low income communities like Mott Haven. Also laws that prevent immigrants from accessing adequate healthcare because they are undocumented should be reviewed; because majority of Mott Haven residents are immigrants who cannot afford the expensive trips to the hospitals with insurance. The government could also team up with organizations that are interested in collaborating to create awareness for heart disease and stroke. Mott Haven is non the less in need of a welfare center to provide services like pantry and soup kitchens and food stamps which would incorporate healthy eating at no cost to residents, employment and unemployment benefits, healthcare benefits as well as financial assistance. This can be done by providing free blood pressure and blood glucose level checks. Another way to create awareness is providing health drives with it community as well as subsidized/ waived fees for the screening of heart diseases and stroke. Public health nurses could help educate and create awareness by having health promotions setup. Community nurses could also provide oriented health services that are available for the community which might include providing essential personal services for those who would otherwise not receive them, and making sure that a competent public health and personal health care workforce is available (Stanhope and Lancaster, 2014
