If If I Die in a Combat Zone, author Tim O'Brien argued that the Vietnam War was wrong and unjust through his depictions of a soldier’s daily life on war, how the author is affected by moral ambiguity, and soldier's experiences of the feel of the war with struggles along with emotional and physical changes.

Soldier O’Brien’s daily life on war

Walked from village to village and feet would hurt.

Had bad dreams of someone trying to kill them.

Learned that the war is not worth one’s life and there is times when you can and cannot be afraid of the war.

III. Moral ambiguity

Was drafted into the war without him asking to join.

Thinking that the wrong because it results in many deaths, but then questioning that it might be poorly justified.
