There has been a main focus sexual orientation that is both scientific and a social interest to the public. Studies of monozygotic twins have been brought to whole different spectrum. Society would see them as the same, considering they have the same genes. Some wouldn’t think about twins having different sexual orientation such as being heterosexual or homosexual. There have been studies that suggested family factor has a substantial impact on sexual orientation on identical twins. There was a greater similarity in the monozygotic twins than in the dizygotic twins. It was also said that genes could be a factor to identical twins. Some argue that is not genetic that makes one twin a different sexual orientation than the other twin.
There have been previous genetic twin studies on being homosexual or bisexual sexual orientation; they have been mostly recruited through homosexual-oriented publications and organizations which can lead to study participants being unreliable in significant respects, such as self-selection for openness and over demonstration of those with entirely homosexual orientations. These possible volunteer preferences are accountable to affect twin concordances and heritability analyses (Kendler and Eaves, 1989). A recent study practices a large population-based sample of Australian twins recruited from the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Twin Registry and, reduces the volunteer preferences distinguishing in the recruitment procedures of other studies. Gringas and Chen (2001) describe a number of mechanisms which can lead to differences between monozygotic twins.
Therefore, it has been said on two concepts on monozygotic twins sexual orientation. They way it was scientifically it was backed up with evidence and how different it was in the way society believes it is. Determining whether it was genetically or environmentally proven, the difference between the way identical twins can be homosexual or heterosexual. The difference is identical twins can be different. Scientific studies and figuring out the truth of sexuality identical twins.
