The drama, Mission of Mercy, by Esther Lipnick is a very inspiring read. It tells about a girl who doesn’t want to be like her proper, fancy family at all. Instead she wants to become a nurse. She leaves her home and becomes a nurse. It inspires me because both of my parents, and other family members of mine, are teachers, although I’m not going to be one. Mission of Mercy is a drama that could inspire many people to go for what they want, even if other people don’t always approve of it. Florence changes throughout all of the the scenes 1, 2, and 3. It’s 1837, the Nightengale’s , and Agnes, are sitting in their home. Florence, Agnes, and Parthenope are making samplers, handmade embroideries. Looking at a globe and spinning it, Florence sits not working a bit. Parthenope asks about her progress and tells her to keep working or it won’t get done. Florence tells them she doesn’t want to sit around all day making samplers and such. Parthenope is very upset about the fit that Florence just threw. She says to her, “ Stop that, Florence. Florence is in her headquarters at the hospital, she works at. She is writing a letter to a patient's mother. When all of a sudden, Mary, a fellow nurse, walks in. Mary and Florence talk about how nice it is to work with each other and how happy Mary is here. Mary quotes, “ I’m glad I’m here with you Miss Nightengale. Good Night.” at the end of their discussion.Also, they talk about how both of their families don’t really want them there. They talk for a little and Florence seems very at home and happy. Later, after Mary had left, two gentlemen come to talk to Florence. It is Dr. Goodale and Dr. Hall that have come to speak with her.
