Each and every generation has their own unique characteristics that distinguishes them from each other. These defining traits are the sources of their generation names, such as Baby Boomers, Millennials and Generation X. My parents were part of the Baby Boomers generation. Their time was categorized as such because the war has just ended, so people had the tendency to procreate more in order to increase their nation’s population. On the other hand, I am part of the Millenials generation. My generation differed is many ways mainly because technology has advanced at an incredibly swift rate. First of all, Millenials are known to be more health-conscious. In the past, staying fit and being healthy was only through aerobics, running on a treadmill
Millennials might become the generation that die before their parents, and it is because of health related issues. The U.S begun this unhealthy downwards spiral in the 70’s when kids started coming home to empty houses, and working people would come home very late and tired. People needed an alternative to cooking that was fast and cheap, which is where the processed food industry began and exploded. Now, most people would believe that the food industry is the most culpable. However, that person should have learned personal responsibility. This generation of 18 to 26 year olds could be the solution to this problem. Millennials are going to be the future parents and lawmakers who could improve the way health is viewed here in the United States. In order to fix this problem of obesity and obesity related diseases, millennials must take personal responsibility and make healthier choices, as well as pass on what they learn to future generations.
The generation of women, who were born between 1946 and 1964 or the post WWII era, are commonly referred to as the ‘Boomer Women.’ In fact the whole generation of babies born in that period was known as the Boomer Generation. People returning from the war were facilitated to have a home and build up families and this consequently led to the Baby Boom.
Finances play a part in everyone’s lives. According to critics, the generation of Millennials have not been the most accomplished in this area. However, new information is on the rise, and it shows that Millennials are becoming more financially stable. The generation of Millennials is a broad group. The group of Millennials associated in this discussion are from the beginning of the Millennial generation, which are those born between the 1980s and 1990s. The Millennials generation itself ranges from the 1980s to 2004. After the Great Recession, the older generation of Millennials had a massive setback with financial security. Since then, Millennials have always been known for having poor finances by critics. Millennials may not

Millennials are a generation of people who are reaching young adulthood by the early 2000s meaning they were born between the years of 1980s and 2000s. Majority of millennials are children of Generation X, also known as Baby Boombers, who were born between the years of 1960s and 1980s. Millennials are also known as Generation Y because they come after Generation X. The topic of millennials sparks the interest of many including myself because I am myself a millennial.
But one thing previous generations, more specifically, baby boomers cannot seem to account for is how drastically the economy has changed over the past twenty to thirty years. Back then, college was affordable through the minimum wage, but now that is no longer possible due to inflation. Everything is becoming increasingly more expensive as the wages, adjusted for inflation remain constant. I am not demanding for anything new when asking for higher wages and lower tuition fees, I just want to have the same equal privileges previous generations had. In other words, I just want the same opportunities that used to be possible.
As Andres Tapia mentioned, “ To be young is to be experienced”. Millennials have a different perspective about how to success in life. Since millennials are born during this current era, they have an advantage over people that were born before. With the inclusion of technology, it is easier to learn and apply new knowledge than before. A good example is the “Apps”. It is only necessary to create an app that attracts the interest of many consumers to start making money. Finally, Millenials have the ability to adapt and evolve. Millenials are the representation of
A Millennial are those who were born in the year of the latest 1900's and the early 2000's. Society assumes that Millennials are attached to their electronic devices. While Simon Sinek was interview titled "On millennials in the workplace" he stated the downsides of the millennials today that is "four characteristics one is parenting the other one is technology third is impatience and the fourth is environment." Simon Sinek gave many examples that many young adults could rely on. However, not everyone feels that Simon Sinek was presenting in samples of his four main details of the effect of the young Millennials today since Hasan Piker made good points in his video named "Young Turks on Millennials" as Simon Sinek replied on the meaning of
Another factor that differs these two generations is how they view work. Baby Boomers have a tendency to see work as their life. They live to work. The Baby Boomer generation is often characterized as being workaholics, as they place significance on their job status and experience (Generational Differences Chart). And because of this, their lives are often unbalance, with work taking a larger role in their lives than families. This is why some Baby Boomers refuse to retire because work gives them a drive to go
A generation is defined as an identifiable group of people who share birth years, age, location, and experience the same significant events within a given period of time (Andrews & Boyle, 2016). Each distinct generation shares similar experiences and their values and attitudes tend to be homologous. There are four main generational cohorts including the veterans, the baby boomers, generation
Generational labels make human history look ordered and discreet, instead of scary and messy. They also have a delightfully suspicious tendency to flatter those using them. George Orwell put it well. “Every generation imagines itself to be more
In his May 2013 editorial for Time Magazine, “Millennials: The Me Me Me Generation,” Joel Stein explains his viewpoint on millennials, defined as people born 1980 through 2000. Using an occasionally humorous tone, Stein summarizes the typical bleak view that older people have for the younger generation, before offering what he believes is closer to the truth. In the end, he decides that while millennials are not without their flaws and vices, a lot of the fears that older people are mostly due to the advanced technology that we are now dealing with. By the end of the article, it is my opinion that Stein makes a very fair summarization and is correct in his idea that to write off the entire generation is unfair towards younger people.
Why would our generation, Generation Z, be different than all the other generations? To be honest, this generation has had experience with a much more advanced and easier life. America has made it very easy to survive. Many things that used to be very hard to obtain, examples are money and food, are now very easy to get your hands on. In my opinion, this lifestyle is better than having a hard life where you are poor and starving. But the greatsest gift of all is the technology we have.

It is safe to say that the working life for millennial generation has been and will be different to that of generations past. Gurenteed jobs after leaving school, college, or university are now a thing of the past. These days placing responsibility of your career progression into the hands of someone else can even be considered passé.
