There many different leadership styles that people use in their professions. One person may have an authoritarian style where as another may use a democratic leadership style. A person could also let the people do what they want employing a laisses faire type of leadership. The type of leadership one decides to use depends on how much control they need in making a decision. The leadership styles are on continuum ranging from demanding all the control, to taking in the opinions of others, to letting people make their own decisions. My personal leadership style involves using the transformational leadership.

Trust through positioning stresses how important it is to have trust and accountability in a relationship (Williams. 2000). Many soldiers returning from war deal with issues such as PTSD and depression stemming from their experiences during the war. In order for the consultant to help the soldier there must be trust and a bond formed between the two members. If there is not a bond created and a lack of trust, then the service member will not be able to open up about their issues. The issues that soldiers may deal with are difficult for others to understand since they have not experienced the same events. The process to build trust is lengthy, but the consultant can show through their action that they care by actively listening and keeping information confidential.
Some leadership styles are more effective than others. Transformational leadership is one of the most effective because it takes others thoughts in consideration. This makes people want to work in order to meet the high expectation the leader has for them. This is not seen in other styles where there some people do not have a voice and no longer feel important. Bosses who want the best out of their employees should use this type of leadership, because everybody wants to feel as if they are
