Hello friends and classmates, this afternoon I want to tell you about the Army and the ways it is active in our community and around the world. As some of you may know, being in the military can send you anywhere in the world. In some cases it could send you to Afghanistan, Iraq or Africa. It could also send you somewhere close to home. For instance the United States Army has recently sent a medical team to Djibouti, East Africa. The medics are teaching caretakers on how to treat burns, bruises, sprains, fractures, open wounds, and common illnesses such as the cold or the flu in children. Some people may assume that it’s a terrible idea to send our troops to other countries to help. It could be very dangerous and they could get killed.
Today is the start of an epic adventure in the Atlantic Maritime. Today you will have a
I was thrilled to hear that after that your efforts towards conceiving a child have made your goal become a reality! As a good friend to both of you and as an astute advocate for infants and children safety, I have a few words of encouragement and knowledge I hope you will take with you on this new found journey! You should be proud and go into this knowing that this experience overall is one of the most beautiful, rewarding, and amazing events that can ever transpire! There are however some points of concern that will need to be addressed to ensure the babies overall health and development are optimal. Since your conceiving at your current age there are some risks the baby may be prone to and I would like to inform you of some preventative
Hi, everybody. This week, America came together to salute our veterans – to express our appreciation to all who served so that we might live free. But our gratitude should extend beyond what our veterans have done for us in the past. It should remind us of our responsibility to serve them as well as they have served us. It should compel us to keep our veterans central to the ongoing work of this nation.
The soldiers would throw the babies in the air and use them as targets to shoot.
If I could have everyone's attention. Good-morning ladies and gentlemen. For those of you who don't know me my name is Jasmine Davenport. Today I’d like to discuss traumatic brain injury also referred to as TBI. I chose this topic because traumatic brain injury is a serious and complex injury with a broad spectrum of symptoms and disabilities. Traumatic brain injury effects people of all ages and is a major cause of death and disability worldwide. A traumatic brain injury can be caused by a blow or jolt to the head that disrupts normal functions of the brain Also, traumatic brain injury can cause physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral affects.
The stepover (also known as the pedalada, the denílson, or the scissors) is a dribbling move, or feint, in soccer, used to fool a defensive player into thinking the offensive player, in possession of the ball, is going to move in a direction he does not intend to move in. The move is reportedly invented by Argentine striker Pedro Calomino during the early 1900s. The feint is deadly and effective. The master of the step over is a Portuguese player known as Cristiano Ronaldo, who is arguably the world's best player at the moment. Before you begin to execute the maneuver, you will need a pair of sneakers or cleats, a soccer ball, and space.
Ever seen your best friends face get ripped to shreds in front of you? Ever seen your best friend that you've known for 3 years, get torn apart by bullets right there next to you, knowing you can do something about it? I have. It's burned into my memory. If friendship has an opposite, it has to be war. Back in school we'd pretend to be soldiers, I'd be raking in vietcong kills, while they were laying around. But every time, they'd die and it'd be my fault, every time. Vietnam is filled with either screaming of pain or screaming of victory. A changing and a changeable place.
"The soldier is the Army. No army is better than its soldiers. The Soldier is also a citizen. In fact, the highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of bearing arms for one’s country” (-General George S. Patton Jr). Here within our borders we are the lucky ones, we have been blessed with the pleasure of so many brave men and women; to volunteer in the world's greatest military; and put their lives on the line for something that they believe is a moral obligation. But, think of some other countries, that have conscription (the practice of ordering people by law to serve in the armed forces) laws. We as a nation have some laws on conscription, and if you are male and above the age of 18 you have already signed the slip of paper stating that in the time of war; if our great nation re-instated the draft then there is a great chance you will be serving on the frontline of the next Great War. This brings me to my first topic of this page, is it ethical to have a draft? My second topic that I will discuss will be on if it is morally acceptable to "draft dodge". What I mean on the second topic is if you have a right; that morally allows you to not go fight in the war.
Today I will be giving an informative speech about Ptsd; Which is short for “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.” Now the main three main points I will be giving are, what Ptsd is, how common it is, and how you can overcome it.
Every Veteran has a story, this is a very special story. This is John B. KIng Jr’s story. King served in Korea and cites a professional career of more than 35 years in service to the federal government. He became homeless after losing his house in a domestic altercation. When asked to share his thoughts on what Veterans Day means to him, King says, "I want to sit down and cry ... what else can I do?"
Today I will teach you about some important things. Today you will get to learn about alcohol, prescription drugs, OTC drugs, and last but not least tobacco. If you want to learn about these things, then read on.
Good afternoon, everyone! How are you all doing? Thank you for all being here so that we can all take a few minutes to learn what Career and Technical Education is and how it has been changing
President Ronald Reagan or even close to him are not among any of the gentlemen in our party, who are wishing to run our great nation of America. Since cameras and spot lights are no longer here, as a human being who was fortunate enough to be born in America, not in Afghanistan or some other countries around the world that President Bush visited, a citizen, an American, a wife, a mother, and the Governor of the great State of South Carolina, allow me to inform you what I think my fellow Americans. You know as well as I do, we do not have anyone in our party good enough to run our beloved country, the United States of America. You are seeing what's going on in some of our debates. You are hearing the loud, unpleasant, obnoxious, disgusting,
To begin with, after football practice, I took a shower and ate dinner, then I sat down with my dad to interview him. Then I asked him “what’s your name.” He answered “Roy Quitevis” he laughed and said “you already know that.” He was wearing a tank top and shorts just as he always does. As I continued I asked him if he had any nicknames he responded saying “Q” I asked him “how did you get that?” He said, “oh because nobody could pronounce my last name,” I laughed as he said that because the announcer at my football games says our last name wrong as well. The next question I asked him was what military branch did you go to? He responded, “ United States Army Missouri.”
Army life can be very challenging and a life changing experience. It was very challenging and life changing for me. I was raised by my Grandparents they did everything for me so this was a wakeup call for me on life. An independent person was not I, so I had problems with the changes about to come. Army life is constantly demanding and constantly changing without notice. Although the travel was exciting, army life for me was very challenging because I had to learn to adapt to a new system, to share my life with other soldiers, and to give up many of the comforts of home.
