The easiest one to start with is the army corps. The army corps is the largest regular army formation, though in war time two or more corps may be combined to form a field army (commanded by a general), and field armies in turn may be combined to form an army group. (“military unit”). Some reasons why the army is the biggest and examples how it is the biggest. “ To to seven divisions and various support units make up an army corps which has 50,00 troops to 300,000 troops and is commanded by a lieutenant general” (military unit). So now that you know some about the army, you can also look at the navy, air force, marines, national guard and last but not least is coast
The Army’s history includes many unique global events such as World War I and II, the Vietnam War, the Korean conflict and most recently operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. An in depth study of these historical events is beyond the scope of this paper however, the origin of the Army is relevant in discussing the Army’s overall culture.
The United States Army, in its current state, is a profession of arms. In order to be considered a profession, the organization must have an ethical code rooted in values, strong trust with its clients, and be comprised of experts within the trade. These experts are constantly developing the trade for the present and the future and hold the same shared view of their trade culture.

In conclusion, the experience is the kind of professionalism and pride that make soldiers respected the world over. It’s the experience that singles one out as someone with unique ability and unique qualities. The country depends on the military to fulfill the important mission to protect democracy and keep peace. Military background and history has been in the world for a long time. It goes back as far as Assyrians, Spartans, Aztecs, Romans and Greek. The military purpose is mainly to protect our country and our rights and freedoms. It’s just a part of nature. No one came up with military it just happened and got stronger and stronger over the years. It first started with random people coming together protecting towns and homes and families, and eventually more and more people came together. The three main branches of the military are The Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. All three of these branches are the reason the U.S is how it is. These branches fight for our freedom, our rights, and our country!! (Robbie Hughes Interview)
“One of the most durable buttresses of militarism is found in the world of sport” (Martin and Steuter p. 131). Popular culture normalizes militarism in various ways, such as even a normal part of American culture as sports. Sports have done a lot of things for me in my life including changing my perspective of how I look at militarism. The military uses sports to advertise to a large group of people across America that will create a positive feeling towards war. Sports make the war seem normal to Americans when they associate it to militarism because many Americans play sports and can relate, but there are also consequences when normalizing the war. Popular culture normalizes militarism in so many ways, but the one aspect of it that normalizes war would be sports, through advertising and professional athletes, not only in a positive way, but it also recognizes the negative side of war.
Colonel Mathew Moten once said, “Professions are not professions simply because they say they are. Their clients, society as a whole, have to accept their claims and trust the professions with jurisdiction over important areas of human endeavor”.
The Army is the branch of armed services responsible for military land operations. They are one of the best at serving and helping our country on U.S. soil, and overseas. They use prepared, swift, and forceful tactics to overcome the enemy, but it wasn’t always like this. The Army used to be men called “minute men” who would go into battle in a minutes notice. The Army has changed over the years from the late 1700’s, to the time that we are at now.
Leaders today need to have an appreciation for the operation process, understand a situation, envision a desired future, and to lay out an approach that will achieve that future (Flynn & Schrankel, 2013). Plans need to be created that can be modified to changes in any factors considered. However, plans should not be dependent on specific information being precise or that require things to go exactly according to schedule. Instead, the staff NCO should be flexible where they can and always be prepared for the unexpected. Today’s military members are fighting an unconventional war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The enemy constantly changes their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP’s) to counter the United States technological advances, making planning very difficult for leaders. There are multiple tools at a staff NCO’s disposal to try to anticipate an outcome of a current operation, but also assist with the development of concepts in follow-on missions. The Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) is just one tool a staff NCO can utilize. In order to stay ahead of the enemy, create effective plans and orders, it is critical for a staff NCO to assist the commander, and understand that the MDMP and planning are essential in defeating the enemy and conserving the fighting force.
As becoming an officer in the military, there are abounding roles and positions that will be expected of all officers to perform. Military officers are to be a member of an armed force and to hold a position of authority. There will be roles to be performed that do not have a right or wrong answer, but an officer will take action to perform his or her role and take responsibility of their action.

My research paper will reflect on all branches of the military. The military is made of four branches: Army, Navy, National Guard, and the Marines. These branches also can be combined as the Special Forces. The army is the longest branch of the military and also the only branch you can hand pick your job according to your ASVAB scores. The navy which has been called the baby branch is more of an experience on both land and water. The National Guard is combined with the Army. Lastly, the Marines is the hardest and toughest branch, this branch is mainly water based. The military is often used as a teenager back fall job, due to the lack of knowledge of their future. Some teens have a strong passion to better themselves, so they join. The military
Militaries in traditionally sense were structured, trained and professionally charged with defending nation states against threats generated by adversarial nation states. For military to succeed in their primary responsibilities they needed to master strategic art, modernize their equipment, update intelligence and technology alongside the capabilities to sustain. As the threat structures evolved into non state actors with violence and terrorism becoming the order of business, much of the advantages that traditional state militaries held were irrelevant. The culture and posture required to fight 4th generation warfare i.e., counterinsurgency
United States military has gone through several military revolutions through the years to become one of the most strong and efficient militaries in the world today. The history of these revolutions spans \for a period of over two decades since its inauguration. In these two centuries, the United States evolved from a young nation fighting for its independence from Britain through the monumental American Civil War and after collaborating in triumph during the World War II to world’s sole remaining superpower from the late 20th century to present. As of 2015, the United States military consists of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and the air force which are all under the command of the United States department of defense with the president the commander
Ever since the end of World War II there has been a worldwide arms race that is and will truly be never ending. This race has affected more than just countries’ militaries, but their economies and foreign relations also. Military spending has increased drastically in almost every country since the start. Numerous amounts of treaties and pacts have been created in order to try and limit conflict. The current arms race typically involves nuclear weapons and much more advanced military technology. This is a big problem because countries themselves are trying to become the most dominant powerhouse but all that has done is create more weapons and force more countries to join the race. I am going to assess exactly how the arms race has affected countries
