The man best known for the moon walk and his hit song “Thriller”, Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, was truly one of the biggest musical icons. Jackson started his music career as the lead singer for Jackson Five at the young age of 11 years old. Michael Jackson stole the hearts of women with his dance moves that were very similar to that of James Brown. The Jackson Five began in 1969 when Joe Jackson, the father of the sibling group, insisted Berry Gordy to sign the group. After releasing the first hit in late 1969, it didn’t take long for “I Want You Back” hit the top of the charts in January of 1970. Genre- I feel that this song would fall along the lines of the Pop Rock genre. I feel that this song falls into this genre because it has a very upbeat sound, but also has the rock guitar.
2. Style- Michael has this rock n roll guitar song in the back of black or white, but the rhythm has this super upbeat feel to the song. His vocal style ranges from calm to shouting the lyrics by the end of the song. The drums in the back ground during the middle of the song help give it that rock feel. The form of the song has multiple different verses with the repetition of the chorus. This song sounds like the artist with his vocals and with what the song sounds like. Most of Michael’s songs are very upbeat with the massive guitar sounds along with the song.
