● Miami Dade College- Is located in Miami, Florida. It is the 8th largest college in the U.S founded & founded in 1959. The College initially implemented an open admissions policy, meaning anyone who could afford classes was allowed to enroll. In 2003, the College was granted the right to award baccalaureate degrees in education. Miami Dade offers three bachelor's degrees. The Dallas County Community College District was created in 1965 when Dallas County voters voted to create Dallas County Junior College District and the founding Chancellor, Dr. Bill J. Priest, was chosen to lead. It is a non-profit two-year college system located within Dallas County limits. Starting with one campus located in downtown Dallas, the DCCCD has grown to seven campuses with five community education campuses located across Dallas County and giving many locations options to the residents of Dallas County. The name was changed in 1972 to its current form. The DCCCD offers online classes and this expands the availability of higher education and job training. The DCCCD is individually accredited through the seven main campuses by the Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on Colleges and goes through the reaccreditation process every ten years. To Kill a Mockingbird, the novel by Harper Lee embodies a work of Southern literature, set in the 1930s in a small town in Alabama. The book’s genre exemplifies a coming-of-age historical fiction story. The narrator, a young girl named Scout Finch, describes the lessons she and her brother Jem learn when their father, a lawyer named Atticus, defends an African American man who stands accused of raping a white woman. The novel’s premise revolves around the efforts of a father raising his children and guiding them in their moral development. Along the way, the book deals with the themes of courage, prejudice and maturity. These three concepts are defined differently by Atticus than by most of the other people in the town where he lives. According to Atticus, courage means doing what remains as right and resisting what remains as wrong, even if other people oppose you. In contrast to the prejudice of the townspeople, Atticus believes it important to treat everyone equally. Maturity, in Atticus’ view, refers to having a sense of conscience and seeking to protect those who remain innocent. As these definitions show, Atticus Finch displays a strong sense of ethics. His goal as a parent remains to pass his values on to his children. This paper will argue that Scout and Jem learn the true meanings of courage, prejudice and maturity through the influence of their father and the example he sets for them.
Thurgood Marshall was an American lawyer, serving as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from October 1967 until October 1991. Marshall was born July 2, 1908 in Baltimore,MD. Thurgood Marshall was a descendant from slaves from both sides of his family. Thurgood also known as “Thoroughgood” was his original name but he shortened it to his known name Thurgood. Most African-Americans agree that they have much to gain by earning a college degree. Most will also agree that this task is much easier said than done. Unfortunately, many African-Americans find that disparities in higher education eclipse their expectations of equal educational opportunity. For many, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are a great solution. Since the founding of Cheyney University in 1837, HBCUs have continually been established to give African-Americans an education as they could not attend other institutions due to segregation laws. HBCUs became more widespread in the 1960s with twenty-seven institutions being established, twenty-four of which still exist today among the 105 institutions. HBCUs play an important role in the education of African-Americans compared to other colleges and universities. They historically provided a way for African-Americans to receive an education that Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs) did not allow, they offer an inclusive environment that fosters better academic and social adjustment, and their open admissions policy along with efforts to enhance retention rates gives African-American students from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity for success.

Auburn University is located in Auburn, Alabama. Auburn is rural, it is kid of in the middle of nowhere, but it has a town near it which is called opelika. Opelika is a cute little town that has a lot of Auburn stores and restaurants. Basically, Auburn is like its own town. Auburn has a humid subtropical climate. Typically, it is really hot and dry there.
HBCU’s have a line of history behind them. Each Institution provides examples of dedication and determination and they offer an education for “African-American” students and students of different backgrounds. HBCU’s prepare students for leadership and successful futures. Institutions today are facing major issues that could cause them to be non-existence but they work hard and push until they get what they need. This is a source of motivation to alumni’s and prospective students. The Colleges provide history, motivation, provision, and most importantly knowledge to every student that attends.

I agree with … that community college is a real college because students have to work really hard to earn their real diplomas and get real jobs. Many students try to transfer from community college to cal states, or real university to get bachelor degree, while students who are going to community college enroll in a real work force program and get more experiment to go straight to real jobs. For example, I had a bestfriend who was major in nursing. She has participated in a nursing program in a college where she studying. At there, she learned both the theory and practice. With her hard work trying to learning, she was practicing at a hospital. After she finish two years in college, she got a associate degree for nursing and she was admitted
