The Mexican American community shares much in common with those in similar to their existence. But the very roots of the Mexican American people, are very much displayed in the same complex patterns of their ancestors—their strong bond between language, values, beliefs, customs, institutions, religion, and self identity (Bravo, 2005, p. 157). However, the connection between immigration and education, the Mexican American stands apart. With more than 400 years of history, the Mexican American people have invariably endured the dichotomy of self-distinctiveness.
