Throughout history, we have seen many animals that have lived on Earth and are no longer alive. However, there is a specific species such as the Megalodon, that though once thought to be extinct, has been speculated to still being alive today. Megalodon are gigantic sharks the size of a greyhound bus with teeth the size of the palm of your hand or maybe even bigger. The Megalodon went “extinct” due to the lack of prey because of major changes in the environment around them. The reason why there has been speculation is because in these recent years past there have been many sightings of sharks with the description of being huge in size. Megalodon are gigantic sharks the size of a greyhound bus with teeth the size of the palm of your hand or maybe even bigger.The Megalodon was the largest shark and predator that ever lived it grew up to a maximum of 18 meters. The teeth of this massive shark reached 7 inches long and only a few teeth have been found that surpass that length. The Megalodon would eat almost anything it came across but its diet mostly consisted of large whales. In order for it to survive they ate an average of 2500 pounds of food everyday but eventually things changed and they weren't able to eat as much anymore. The Megalodon went …show more content…

Another reason why is because there have been many nursery areas discovered, places where they birth their young, and we have been finding baby Megalodon teeth from not too long ago. There has also been a whale carcass that washed ashore on one of the beaches in Africa and its whole backside has been bitten off in ONE BITE. The only animal in the ocean that can possibly bite off a whale’s whole backside off with one bite is the one and only Megalodon. These speculations provide a bunch of evidence of the Megalodon still being alive in our ocean
