Choose a meaningful personal change that you want to make; A personal change I would like to make is my approach and the response I display to my teammates and the organization. I am a very independent person at work, I tend to be a controlling person in every aspect. However, I am trying to overcome this debilitating trait by learning new techniques and reflecting on the other person’s ideas, comments, efforts and suggestions without taking control. I do complete my task with little or no assistance, but it causes me to be detached, indifferent, and uninvolved from my teammates causing conflicting issues. I do sense a distance between myself and my teammates, but I continue to work hard and remain focus. I would have to take the first steps by humbling myself and reflect that towards others with providing them with an open-mind. Gaining the knowledge of what alternatives can be used to work together will give me a better understanding of what it means to be interdependent as an individual and teammate. Nonetheless, perception by both parties require framing; it will keep myself and the organization focused with a common goal and a well-structured plan to get there. First, I must set a goal, then prepare and envision my plan. Asking myself the right questions; how will I obtain my goal? In order for me to create the plan I must identify and define the issue, my faults. If my character can change for the better and my teammates are able to identify with it, I believe I would gain their faith and trust. Leading my team to success by commitment and motivating them to work together towards one goal to benefit the organization and individual personal fulfillment.
