Maureen Dowd Maureen Bridgid Dowd was born in Washington, D.C. on January 14, 1952. She was born to Mike Dowd and Peggy Dowd, she is the youngest of five children. Maureen graduated from Immaculata High School in 1969. She obtained her Degree in English at the Catholic University of America. Maureen Dowd is one of the most well-known columnists in America. During her career obtained many awards(.) Her career in journalism took birth after she became an editorial assistant with the newspaper, the 'Washington Star', where she rose up the ladder to become a sports reporter,a feature writer, and a metropolitan reporter. In 1999, Maureen won the Pulitzer Prize for ‘distinguished commentary.’ In 2000, she won the award ‘The Damon Runyon Award’ for outstanding contribution to journalism. She ranked at number thirty-seven out of one hundred on most influential liberals in America. Unfortunately, not everything has been good, in 2009, one of her articles was accused of plagiarism. Maureen Dowd’s husband is known to be non-other than her work. She is a busy woman. Maureen Dowd has not married till date. She also cites her work for not being married. Maureen was in a brief relationship with actor Michael Douglas in 1998.She then was seen with Aaron Sorkin in 2005. Both of her relationships did not work so well. She is currently single and living happily. Maureen is currently sixty-four years old and has achieved a lot in life till date.
