Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist minister who declared that blacks and whites have the same and equal rights. Since the blacks and whites didn’t have the same rights it led to the March on Washington in 1963 (History.com). The March on Washington was a famous part in history because that is where Martin Luther King gave his famous speech called “I Have a Dream.” This man fought for equal rights and never backed down. King Jr. was many people's hero. He is my hero and inspiration. Even though martin Luther King Jr. didn’t see his dream come true I believe he knows it came true. Martin Luther King is an inspirational person in my life because of his bravery, leadership, and he is a good role model. Martin Luther King Jr. was born in January 15,1929. King was born in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Morehouse College in 1948 (Infoplease.com).King Jr. was the son of a pastor and later became a preacher for a Baptist Church in 1954.Martin Luther King Jr had two siblings (History. com). Michael King Sr. wanted to follow in his father-in-law’s footsteps (bio.com).He also became a successful minister of the Ebenezer Baptist Church (bio.com). Martin Luther King was born into a safe and loving environment (bio.com).King married a woman named Alberta in 1926 after an eight year courtship(bio.com).
When he gave his famous “I Have A Dream” speech he was standing up for the blacks to have the same and equal rights as the whites. When King was five years of age he went to a public school and when Martin Luther King Jr. was 12 years old his grandmother passed away. The event was very sad for Martin Luther King Jr. After he heard about it he tried to commit suicide. Martin Luther King Jr. skipped 9th and 11th grade
