Margot's Short Story 'All Summer In A Day'

278 Words1 Page

The short story All Summer in a Day shows how desire leads to people doing things they normally wouldn't do. The kids wanted to see the sun so badly that they accused Margot of lying. Not being able to accept the fact that she had seen the sun and they hadn't shows they changed because of desire. The kids are jealous because what they desired is gone. They also push Margot around all the time. So, as a result of desire, the children did abnormal things.
One Piece of evidence is Margot's teacher. She is so excited- she so desires to see the sun, that she doesn't check to make sure Margot is there with the group. She was distracted by her desire of the sun.
Certainly it could be said that kids are just rude normally, however it fails to account
