True Heroism
“Marcos knocked the window screen out and guided the boy out the window and down the ladder” (Teen Hero). This means that Marcos Ugarte performed an act of heroism by saving a child from a burning building. I think that perseverance is a hero's foremost trait. A hero has no uncertainty. They act swiftly and dominate the situation. I can defend that these kinds of heroes are truly heroes because they help people from threats and all sorts of disasters. Heroism is many things, but a hero is someone who saves other people's lives even if it involves danger.
A hero is many things, but my definition narrows it down to saving people’s lives. I can back this up with many examples of this kind of hero. According to Teen Hero, “Marcos knocked the window screen out and guided the boy out the window and down the ladder” (Teen Hero). This shows that my definition is correct because many people consider Marcos a hero because he was vigilant and saved somebody’s life. In addition, “Veronika Scavacini, an eighth grade student from Reno, Nevada, discusses why she raised funds to help personally deliver Lifestraws to Africa” (TEDx). For example, “John Adams (1735-1826) was a leader of the American Revolution, and served as the second U.S. president from 1797 to 1801” (John Adams 1). He fits as my hero definition because he saved many lives by signing a treaty with Britain and chose the leader of the continental army. This is one of the many people I can give an example of. In addition, “Veronika Scavacini, an eighth grade student from Reno, Nevada” (TEDx). This is another example of my definition because Veronika brought lifestraws to Africa and in doing that she has saved many lives from disease.
