Manipulation can be interpreted in only one definition; an unrighteous act. Manipulation is which that corresponds to the concept of falsehood. It is the state that we arrive upon when we dexterously control others’ minds. In addition, manipulation can be very successful if handled in the correct manner. An exemplar which portrays molding children’s minds is described in a short story named, "The Children's Story" by Jame Clavell. The short story is about a teacher negatively influencing her pupils in order for them to learn how and what the reality is, based upon on what their teacher thinks. Since each citizen in America has the right to do what they want, manipulation cannot be employed to shape others’ minds. A negative example of influence has been seen in the story when the new teacher told her pupils that they should ask God for candy than for the welfare of their parents. They all eventually prayed for candy, but when the candy did not appear on the tables, the new teacher initiates on making the children doubtful on the fact that God is real. A quote that supports the above opinion is on page five where it states, “They were very happy… What should we pray for? “Bless Momma and Daddy,” Danny said immediately. That’s a good idea, Danny. I have one. Let’s pray for candy.” This quote explains a key idea which is that the new teacher is trying to allocation irrelevant sapience to the students which persuades them in a terrible way since they are not taught correct information. Therefore, the pupils are learning the opposite of what they should be because of the teacher’s manipulation strategies and powers towards them. The pupils find their new teacher to be an intellectual and a benign person, but in reality these are just different techniques the teacher is using to control her students. Lastly, the teacher teaches her students that praying for candy is much more important than praying for their parents. This is an example of influencing naive children in order to take them into the wrong path. Influencing young children can be easily done when using the right and proper method to mold their minds.
