My Argument theme is Manipulation throughout Julius Caesar. I will show three unique scenarios in which manipulation was used by William Shakespeare’s characters to draw the audience's attention, sympathy, anger, and confusion.
Manipulation by Opinion A.Brutus states- “The only way is to kill Caesar. I have no personal reason to strike at him—only the best interest of the people.” His way of stating yeah we have to kill him but i have no idea or just reason for it except that I hate him because the people love him and not me . B.Brutus in speaking with the other men says- “ But, alas, Caesar must bleed for it. And, gentle friends, Let’s kill him boldly but not wrathfully. Cassius in his mind saying Caesar resents him but loves Brutus, so decides to forge letters and have the letters strewn around by a lower man as to cause discontent in men he wanted to join in his mindset.
B. Cicero convincing others that the Gods are displeased and demand repramation, and their will must be followed . As though the entirety of Rome will suffer because Caesar has chosen to lead his people as one of them not as a god.
C. Cassius instructing Cinna to place the forged letters in Brutus’ Seat ( knowing that Cinna can be persuaded easily) , in this way he is manipulating not just Cinna but Brutus as well.
Manipulation by power can be by Bullying, by stature, by demeaning someone by down playing their intelligence or making them think that their way of thinking is nonconsequential.

Manipulation at the Funeral
One of the most obvious scenes of manipulation in the acts that we read was in the Funeral scene. On both Anthony and Brutus’ parts.
