Many of Machiavelli's views have been utilized as a tool in the progression of politics , throughout the world's central governments. Machiavelli's “The Prince” is a piece written for a young politician (prince) taking reign for the first time in place of a high position;hence, “The Prince” , stepping into his authority. it is a guide, suggestions on how to govern. in this work here is a concept used as a method to motivate others in their opposition. I believe that fear is effective to an extent, when used wisely. Niccoló Machiavelli strongly believed that a balance between cruelty and mercy was needed and fear can be induced by cruelty. Finally , yet another Machiavellian trait or decision is seen in Vladimir Putin, which is frighteningly beautiful. Putin is a perfect match of what the Prince would have looked like ,had he followed the guidelines. Machiavelli wrote about pre-communistic mixed socialist approaches and Putin in Russia governs as such . It is scary how close Putin is to following every single suggestion in the book. The last and final question would be if Putin indeed carries these Machiavellian traits modernly than he is a wise Prince , a man of Proverb.
