But her mom, dede, wasn't happy with the relationship with her boyfriend but she couldn’t separate them, therefore she figured an idea to let 14-year-old Lucille to for the show business to separate them. Although her family did not have lots of money, her mom DeDe still arranged for Lucille to go to the John Murray Anderson School for the Dramatic Arts in NYC where she also met Bette Davis also as a fellow student.
