To the Editor of the paper, I believe that Thomas Jefferson and the Unites States Government should buy the Louisiana Territory and the port of New Orleans because we could extend the land of the United States. If we expanded, we could have more power. It would be beneficial for our country. As you know, the United States government is debating whether or not to buy the Louisiana Territory. If we did, it would greatly increase our land and allow people access to settle in new places. By purchasing the land, it would more than double the size of the United States, leaving room for growth. Then people could go and settle the territory.
