There will never be two books that are exactly same, but readers will often find that some books may have characters who share the same qualities, ideas, and personalities. But then, there will be books where the characters are exact opposites of each other. In Lord of the Flies and Into the Wild, there are characters who have absolutely no similarities whatsoever. We have Jack, from Lord of the Flies, who is a shy, sensitive, sheltered boy. We also have Christopher Johnson McCandless, from Into the Wild, who is an intelligent, idealistic young man. In both the novel and the movie, a group of boys and an individual demonstrate that over time that fear and the will to survive is the only thing that is driving them to make the decisions they make. They will do things that display savagery and uncivilized behavior in order to beat nature. While some may argue that the urge to gain power is what leads one to make decisions and act upon it, it is clear that fear and the will to survive is what many people act upon
Through tragedy, two all male societies are established as they fight for survival, in similar circumstances. The situations the groups now find themselves in are less favourable and require them to work together. Cooperating with each other is key to their survival, as well as gathering and rationing resources. One group of men is trapped in a mine where their only resources come from a small emergency centre underground. This takes place in a movie called The 33 directed by Patricia Riggen. The other story is about several young boys stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash that has left them with no adults. The novel, Lord of the Flies, is a compelling story displaying the metamorphosis of an individual when faced with external and internal conflicts. Ralph is the first character to be introduced in the book. He is the most likeable as he is charming, athletic, and displays strong leadership qualities. However, as the novel progresses, Ralph loses his sense of civilization and undergoes a change in character discovering the evil man is capable of. Ralph’s metamorphosis is captivating and displays the inevitable loss of innocence.

In the popular novel, Lord of the Flies, William Goldings shows that man is basically evil, but that man can overcome those instincts if he tries. Simon, Ralph, and Piggy are prime examples of keeping their good character. In each of them there is a desire to do good. They show throughout the novel that it is possible, even when surrounded by evil, to put aside desires and keep good morals.

The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding is an allegorical novel representing what the world was like during World War II. The novel is about a group of boys who survive a plane crash during the Blitzkrieg. The boys are stranded on an island and must find a way to survive until they are rescued. Most of the characters do not even know each other before the crash happens. As the novel progresses, the characters begin to show their different personalities. Ralph, Simon, and Jack have individual traits and personal qualities that are represented in Lord of the Flies.
When placed on a deserted island, a group of strangers banded together to try to survive. They decided on a leader, problem-solved, fought off a beast, and formed their own society, even if it was somewhat flawed. This was the situation in the famous TV show, Lost. The Lord of the Flies and Lost are similar in these many different ways, with the exception that the show featured a tribe of adults instead of children. That just proves how difficult it is to maintain order in a society; even the adults struggled with keeping it peaceful and civilized. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding presents a broken society of savage boys fighting one another to suggest that man’s capacity for evil is brought out by the need for power and control.
Often in our lives other people affect us in both negative and positive ways. In the case of Lord of the Flies, the kids influence one another while on the island, in mostly negative ways. These influences cause for mental changes in the brain. Most of the time, mental changes affect physical changes. However, in some rare occasions it is the other way around. While on the island the boys go through numerous physical and mental changes. Although mental changes are somewhat more significant than physical changes, physical changes are still very much apparent and can sometimes cause for mental change.
In the novel, "Lord of the Flies," a group of British boys are left on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. Throughout the novel, they have conflicts between civilization and savagery, good vs. evil, order vs. chaos, and reason vs. impulse. What would it be like if the boys were replaced by a group of girls? Would they behave the same way they did in the novel? I believe that the girls would act in the same behavior as the boys in all ways because, everyone is installed with evil inside them which is their natural instinct, also because in life there is always a power struggle in all manners, and the outcome with the girls would be similar-since both sexes would plan on getting rescued.
There are many lessons of human nature to be learned from the novel Lord of the Flies; the book explores many aspects of human nature and society as a whole. We know this is evident because the book stirs a variety of human emotions for the reader. The implications of Lord of the Flies go far beyond these few small children being abandoned on a dessert island, it discovers the defects of the mind and our human nature in order to explain our actions in society. Human fear stems from the unknown, which leads to terror and often irrational behavior; just as the children on the island experienced fear, the island became an evil place as if 'a beast ' had been unleashed. We later learn that the fear of the unknown causes humans to release their own devils from within. In effect, their world isn't so different from the one we live in now.
A Comparison of the Film Versions of William Golding's Lord of the Flies. We have read Lord of the Flies by William Golding (1954) and also seen the scene “the death of Piggy” in the two film versions directed by Peter Brook (1961) and Harry Hook (1994). The black and white version by Peter Brook is very close to the text since the characters look the same in the film as they are described. Harry Hooks’ intentions for this film were to make it have a lot of action and make money from it.
Humans are intricate. They have built civilizations and invented the concept of society, moving accordingly from savage primal instincts to disciplined behaviour. William Golding, however, does not praise humanity in his pessimistic novel, Lord of The Flies, which tells the story of a group of British schoolboys who are stranded on an uninhabited tropical island without any adults – a dystopia. Golding evidently expresses three views of humanity in this novel. He suggests that, without the rules and restrictions on which societies and civilizations are built, humans are intrinsically selfish, impulsive and violent.

In both novels, the main characters are isolated from any form of true civilisation. In Lord of the Flies, the boys find themselves on a desolate island which is devoid of any human life due to a plane crash, whereas in The Road the Man and Boy live in a bleak, destroyed America in which almost the entire population has been wiped out due to an unnamed natural disaster. Because of the lack of resources and essentials, it is inevitable that the main characters have to find means of surviving – in Lord of the Flies; this is mainly through hunting and building shelter and in The Road, the Man and the Boy trek along the barren landscape in search for any remaining food they can find.
