All organization must make some ethical decisions in some instances during the decision making process of these organizations. Generally, these ethical decisions might proof to be challenging within the career development in an organization. This has been evident in the case of Liz Ames since she has found herself within this particular situation in the workplace. Despite the fact that Liz Ames has worked for her organization for more than ten years, she feels been a victim of sexual discrimination, belittled, getting poor pay and devalued in her workplace. Ames does not believe in the idealistic world but instead she is realistic about organizations, people and the opportunity in human life. The realism in Ames is revealed through the thinking of formulating a memo addressing the gender discrimination in Vision. Ames is aware that it might not be good with her based on the treatment they have received as women in Vision through been belittled and devalued during various meetings although she did not anticipate this kind of treatment when she joined Vision. Nevertheless, Ames decides to solve the issue of gender discrimination in Vision instead of keeping quiet and ignoring it. For instance, Ames shows support for women presenters who may not be taken with seriousness or in the instance of dismissal. Furthermore, it is bold step towards equality for Ames to take the significant step of formulating the memo for the corporation to understand the matter and hear her voice. In this case, if the current situation faced by women in Vision was to change and equality upheld, Ames would utilize her knowledge and energy not only to improve her but also move ahead with the company and develop her career. This would reveal the personal interest of working in the betterment of the work environment within Vision. Contrarily, Ames is concerned about the gender discrimination against women in Vision and she is interested in making the future of women in this organization better. This is evident from her personal support to the mistreated women in Vision during meetings. The self-regard of Ames is revealed through her concern on the ill treatment that she receives in Vision from male-co-workers and low motivation in her career development in Visions which drives Ames to address sexual discrimination in Vision. Therefore, through her pursuit for better life in Vision, Ames utilizes her courage, persistence and power to offer resolution to address gender discrimination issue in Vision. Since the motives of Ames are complicated, this shows that she understands the issue better which gives her the power to handle it while addressing it from various perspectives.
