Feel I qualify for this scholarship because I love to help people. Through different experiences, such as sports and school, I have learned and demonstrated various leadership skills. Being a Link crew leader not only taught me how to be a leader but, it help me have faith in myself and to always look up to younger people. I joined link crew so I could help our new 10 graders find their way around, and to feel included and accepted at their new school. For example during orientation in august I was giving good amount of advice to my sophomore group to be able to survive high school since I am a senior this year This made me proud and humbled that I could make a huge impact in someone's life. I liked their idea and I thought the other kids would too, but I knew the idea would never happen because it would not be heard. I want to give students a voice. That's why I joined Student Council so that other students voice’s can be heard. When I came to Rush Henrietta I made a promise to myself to choose a few activities and make a genuine dedicated commitment to them; instead of over committing myself to a broad array of things that are not that important to me. Most importantly, as a student council member and a Link Crew Leader you are given the opportunity and the responsibility to pass that knowledge onto other students, faculty, and incoming freshman. One of my challenges was that I cared so much about what other people said about me and I overcame it by having confidence on myself and not to let people get too me easily. Right after I am done with high school, I would like to pursue Business Management as my major because you can a job in any field of other business majors and a career in business is more varied than most people realize.
