The personality of the person can become very important when determining how life is going to turn out. For example, having a charismatic type personality could dictate a certain amount of comfort professionally and personally. It can affect the individual on various psychological aspects. What is a characteristic? It can be summed up to mean, the characteristics or traits of a person. “A trait would predict which behavior would manifest with high frequency, with intensity, and over a wide range of situations” (Lecci, 2015). Lewis Goldberg’s Big five-factor trait theory goes through the five traits of the personality of a person on five dimensions and shows how a person develops these habits throughout their lifetime by whatever experiences that is taken from their environment and whatever genes were inherited. Sigmund Freud’s three main aspects help with understanding how a child develops a personality throughout their life overall. These theories can define the different elements of the character. This describes me somewhat although at times I feel the need not to be very social. I also never felt the need to be a social butterfly to the point of advancing my career. However, I am self-confident in public, and I can admit to being somewhat chatty at times. The score I had for Agreeableness was high, at 85%. This score basically says that im easy to get along with and that I have the ability to fit in and be liked by others.I have always just taken things in stride, and not sweat the small stuff. My score helps me to understand why I have such a laid-back view on the mistakes that I along with others make. I try not to let anything faze me. Finally, for Neuroticism, I scored 23%. This score means that I have high self-esteem and can handle stress well. I would say that this does represent my personality well. Honestly though I find myself displaying the other facet of this trait which is anxiety and guilt over something I failed at. Everyone experiences these feelings; However, some people are more prone and sensitive to them than others are. When something is wrong in the world around certain people, they might experience negative emotions because of whatever is going on in their life at that time.
