Human services play a very important role on the human society. Human Services is the approach that shows effectiveness of meeting human needs. These needs focus on prevention and remediation and maintaining life issues. Human services also help maintain a commitment to improve the quality of life. “Human service professionals support the trust that implicates and helps relationships by avoiding dual relationships that may impair professional judgment to others” (Murphy, Bianca & Dillon, 2010). Prejudice stereotypes can harm the helping process in many ways. For instance, prejudice and stereotypes are unethical and can break HIPPA violations. We are designed to help assist others who may need our assistance, therefore judging a person is unethical. “Prejudice often leads to discrimination” (Murphy, Bianca & Dillon, 2010). Surrounding this case, ethical and legal issues must be obeyed. For instance, a client’s privacy and confidentiality. It is important to make sure as a professional to follow a client’s privacy and confidentiality. Everything a client tells a professional, it is our job to make sure it stays private. Breaking confidentiality can cause legal issues, or loss of employment. As a professional my obligations would be to acknowledge ethical and legal issues. I prefer to educate myself to understand all ethical and legal issues that could occur. I would educate myself, so I do not have to encounter myself breaking any legal or ethical codes in the workforce.
