I. Introduction Learning is a way of life. At every moment throughout the day we should attempt to learn something new. Most of us learn in different ways and for different reasons. The way we learn is often a reflection of our personalities. Because we are different and learn different we have to also be taught in different ways. Teaching in different ways can be a challenge; however, it can be rewarding for the student and the teacher. The educator has to make an environment that is conducive to learning. This may be difficult but when you understand the many ways of learning and the types of learners, one will have a better understanding of how to achieve the best learning environment.

Students that are blessed with teachers that use their preferred method of learning tend to learn quicker, interact more and retain the given information better. The importance of the having different learning theories is that, what one theory does not cover the other one will cover. This provides several ways a teacher can present information to give each student their best chance for academic success. Once it is recognized by the teacher he or she can develop lesson plans in diverse ways to appeal to several students learning styles within the classroom which adds to meaningful learning. Without this connection students and teachers will experience disconnect that will prohibit effective learning. I thrive on a socially related learning atmosphere and need a well-defined job description. Parkers Learning Styles Profile tells me almost the opposite. Technology and Research were weaker areas. I had strengths in many other categories among them are; Career Skills, Time Management, Note-taking, Written Communication, Reading, Listening and Stress. I know that with my preferred learning styles it is harder for me to take on-line course and it creates a challenge that I use to improve my secondary learner
