In today’s modern view, poetry has become more than just paragraphs that rhyme at the end of each sentence. If the reader has an open mind and the ability to read in between the lines, they discover more than they have bargained for. Some poems might have stories of suffering or abuse, while others contain happy times and great joy. Regardless of what the poems contains, all poems display an expression. That very moment when the writer begins his mental journey with that pen and paper is where all feelings are let out. As poetry is continues to be written, the reader begins to see patterns within each poem. On the other hand, poems have nothing at all in common with one another. A good example of this is in two poems by a famous writer by the name of Langston Hughes. A well-known writer that still gets credit today for pomes like “ Theme for English B” and “Let American be American Again.” “Theme for English B” and “Let American be American again” share some similar elements. These poems both written by Langston Hughes both explain about inequality. Theme for English B revolves around the separation of the black and white man; the differences within each race were segregation was at a high point. Let America be America again revolves around the concept that America is supposed to be the land of the free, but to another race or background; it’s a total opposite. Although Walt Whitman wrote during the American Antebellum Era and Hughes wrote during the Harlem Renaissance, both used their works to advocate for African Americans. Hughes greatly admired Whitman and felt that he had been ignored and underappreciated as a writer. Hughes’ admiration and respect for Whitman allowed him to develop his own unique style of writing and encouraged him to be a voice for those living in Harlem. These are relevant because I wouldn’t counsel a white atheist female the same way I would counsel a black African Methodist Episcopal male. By using the Black Identity Development Model I would say that Biko is in the preencounter stage. Biko’s parents went to a historically black college (HBC) and wanted him to go to one as well. Biko decided not to because he doesn’t want to follow in his parent 's footsteps so he went to a primarily white college. This means that Biko doesn’t want to attend an HBC because he thinks it will make him an angry person. He is unconsciously devaluing African Americans and his culture. Biko may think that he identifies with being African American but by choosing a white school over a black school because he believes that attending a black school will make him an angry aggressive person is discrimination. “Blacks at this stage evidence self-hate, low self-esteem, and poor mental health” (Vandiver, 2001). Biko’s self-esteem is low because he has had females use him and this also caused him to have problems trusting people. Also, his girlfriend goes out and parties and doesn’t answer the phone for him while he is at home worrying and getting angry at her. The preliminary effects of the Meaningful Use Program have began to have an impact on improving the quality of care and its’ safety and efficiency. I gained a greater understanding of information technology and it’s role and importance to my current and future practice. I learned the goal of the Meaningful Use Program isn’t just to install technology in facilities across the nation its so much more. The goals are to empower patients and their families, reduce health disparities and support research and health data. The EHR can prevent medication errors, reduce long term medical costs, improve population health and through the Meaningful use program the vision of this program is becoming reality.
Unfortunately, the quality of health care in America is flawed. Information technology (IT) offers the potential to address the industry’s most pressing dilemmas: care fragmentation, medical errors, and rising costs. The leading example of this is the electronic health record (EHR). An EHR, as explained by HealthIT.gov (n.d.), is a digital version of a patient’s paper chart. It includes, but is not limited to, medical history, diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans. The EHR, then, serves as a resource that aids clinicians in decision-making by providing comprehensive patient information.

Poetry is a versatile avenue from which waves or ripples can be made potentially. A writer of poetry has the ability to make their readers feel a while wide array of emotions and situations synonymous with the human condition. I, at first, was completely turned off to the idea of poetry at first because all I was exposed to early on by way of poetry were bland professions of love or lust or seemingly simple poems I was forced to process down to a fine word paste. Edgar Allan Poe was interesting, but it was a tad bit dry to me. But, after reading poems the Harlem Renaissance gave me a bit of hope for poetry. There are obvious benefits to the technology such as quick access to patient information, efficient and faster billing, and lower storage costs. In addition, there are huge advantages to linking laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy information to the larger EHR. For many years, African Americans were forced to live without a voice and many accepted the fact that they were seen as inferior to the white race. Although they were excluded from being a part of society, built up emotions constructed beautiful pieces of poetry that have become important aspects of today’s literature. Langston Hughes’, “ I Too, Sing America” and Claude Mckay’s, “The White House” will be looked at closely to determine how each poem portrays emotional discontent and conflicted emotional states.
“Theme for English B” by Langston Hughes is a blank verse that mainly focus on how this young black student, connecting as an individual who struggled with an entire race. In this poem the young black student instructor told them to write a paper and stated “And let that page come out of you”. Stating that you should just write what’s on your mind. The poem is more a critical thinking skill. It simply a powerful look at how the twenty-two year old black student might relate to this white professor. Even though in the poem he stated that he was black made me realize he was dealing with a lot of racism. However it is not only about the race; it also applies to any human being who wonder about his or her own identity. Langston Hughes uses many different literally devices throughout this poem, including metaphors, imagery a little, and etc.
