Jacques-René Hébert provides useful information in the extract taken from "Le Père Duchesne", on the "sans-culottes". He gives fairly detailed descriptions on who the "sans-culottes" really were:
Over the course of five weeks we’ve had to write three essays (four if you include this one). With every essay I’ve written I have improved my writing process. Having the chance to practice my writing skills in English 102 has made me a better all-around writer. From the beginning of this course, I knew I had a few major issues that I needed to overcome to improve my writing. The biggest being my issues with punctuation, specifically comma splices. Comma splices are something that I just can’t seem to wrap my head around. Although I have gotten better at recognizing comma splices they still seem to sneak in to my writing.
"Maupassant was born in Châteaude de Miromesnil, Normandy" (Encarta). He received his education at Yvetot and Rauen and there joined a literary team where he was trained as a writer of fiction by Flaubert, another well know French author (Encarta). He, like Chopin, wrote many short stories, for which he is remembered the most (Encarta). Like Chopin, Maupassant’s ideas were looked at as "immoral" and "mature," dealing with ideas such as "sex," loneliness, and "depression" (Jones 385). He questioned the standards of the day, and was therefore rejected by many people as an immoral person (Jones 385).
My first impression of the quote is that Meursault has lost hope and motivation for life. I feel that Meursault has been through challenging obstacles and he was an earnest person who had desire to succeed. In addition, I wonder how his past could have resulted in him losing his ambition. When he mentions “students”, it reflected how studious and ambitious he was. The word “but” made me disappointed because that words represents the contrast between his past and present life. I thought it was interesting how he described himself as a student instead of a kid or child. As a grown up, he does not have the desire to explore opportunities for growth. He is disinterested in everything and doesn't particularly care about what is happening.
In order to understand the motives and experiences that are involved in all of his books, an understanding of some of Antoine’s background is required. Born of aristocratic parents, Antoine lost his father as a small child and watched his brother die as a young teenager. As a young man he adored his mother, who spoiled him frequently. Through the years he kept in touch with her by writing letters, which portrayed the love

By acknowledging the physiological and imagined experiences of travel there can be critical understanding into the relationship between landscapes and the lives of individuals and how they shape that individual. Alain de Botton a philosopher and author studied this idea in depth and wrote his non-fiction ‘travel guide’ The Art of Travel. De Botton deliberately represents ideas about the lives of individuals and their relationship with landscapes in his book. He conveys the concept that these experiences can influence the identity of these individuals. He does this by using intertextuality, exploring the ideas from artists and theorists throughout his book. These experiences can be seen through themes and concepts portrayed in each individual

He is charged as guilty, but refuses to say anything or defend himself. He goes on with his life, without fear of the consequences of being in jail. Meursault does not feel contentment nor misery. This also connects to the concept of “Existentialism is Humanism” because we believe everything that was placed on this earth has a personal value. “Thus the paper-knife is at the same time an article producible in a certain manner and one which, on the other hand, serves a definite purpose, for one cannot suppose that a man would produce a paper-knife without knowing what it was for.” (Sartre) This proves that even the simplest of things, such as a paper knife, truly still have essence and a purpose. The essence of Meursault may be different from everyone else’s but I don't believe it’s inaccurate. Meursault finds no inspiration whatsoever to become an emotional attached man
The first instance in which we see Meursault’s detachment is in Part One of the book with the death of his mother. Camus starts off the novel by saying, “Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don’t know”(1). Meursault’s casual and nonchalant attitude throughout his mother’s funeral creates an emotional wedge between him and the reader insofar as their inability to justify his behavior. The fact that the structure of the novel explicitly demonstrates Meursault’s indifferent attitude makes it so that reader is at odds with the protagonist from the onset of the novel. The reader begins to search for a reason why Meursault is acting this way and causes them to have a feeling of absurdity. As they entered the village for Maman’s funeral service, a nurse spoke to Meursault, and said, “If you go slowly, you risk getting sunstroke. But if you go too fast you work up a sweat and then catch a chill inside the church.” Meursault’s takeaway from her comment was that, “...
English 102 (Writing and Research about Culture) had a main purpose of teaching students how to write research papers. This course also taught how different perspectives and prejudices are based on the language that it uses. Examples of these prejudices included: sexism, ageism, ableism, heterosexism/homophobia, and racism. Since English 102 is a class that focuses on writing, one of the major lessons included learning how to write a proper essay. For example, I learned that the basic outline of an essay included: the intro, body, and conclusion. The parts of the essay then further breaks down into the basic parts of a paragraph. The basic parts of a paragraph include: a transition sentence, a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence. In this class, I also
Over the past decades, teachers have been trying to create effective approaches for classroom instruction. Although until this day, there are still issues in the classroom. This is reasonable due to every student and classroom is different in the sense of how the class flows and what goes on in the classroom instruction form. According to Pinar, implementing “the currere method” can make a nurturing environment for students to learn and acquire knowledge because the classroom will flow, causing more time to be used to create, innovate and give more attention to instruction. Therefore different authors agree or disagree with many of the approaches “currere” represents and the way how it can help manage the process of learning effectively.
The use of first person point of view greatly improved the understanding of this characteristic, as one is able to read his complete lack of emotion, and his complete lack of compassion. For example, soon after he is told his mother is dead, Meursault says, “The woman kept on crying. I wished I didn’t have to listen to her anymore, But I didn’t dare say anything.” This quote showed that Meursault did not care about the woman, nor was he sad himself about the death of his mother. Other expressions of sadness served to simply annoy him. Here, Meursault is revealed to be isolated, as though everyone else cares, he does not. This would not be revealed with another point of view, as here, one is able to read Meursault’s inner thoughts, thus revealing him as emotionless. This is evident again when Meursault speaks of possibly marrying Marie. He said, “That evening Marie came by to see me and asked me if I wanted to marry her. I said it didn’t make any difference to me and that we could if she wanted to. Then she wanted to know if I loved her. I answered the same way I had the last time, that it didn’t mean anything but that I probably didn’t love her. ‘So why marry me, then?’ she said. I explained to her that it didn’t really matter and that if she wanted to, we could get married. […] Then she pointed out that marriage was a serious
