What learning style fits your personality? Grace Fleming states that when students have study habits that fit their personal learning style, they a more likely to perform better on test. Learning styles are the ways an individual student processes or retains information. The three learning styles are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic and each have their own traits that make them very different from each other.
The first learning style that helps students comprehend a subject is, visual learning. Visual learners use pictures, diagrams, videos, and color to understand a point. According to Melissa Kelly, visual learners learn best when they can see the material being taught. Being a visual learning myself I have always found visualizing quite useful, especially when it comes time to studying. I had taken human physiology my junior year of high school and I often drew pictures to help me memorize the many different vocabulary words he had. Auditory learners like everything from speeches to audio books. Kelly Roell says, auditory learners are often the social butterflies of the classroom, and can be easily distracted by those around them. One example of an auditory learner is my best friend from high school, Breanna. During our lunch break I would always catch her reading her note cards out loud. She was a very quiet girl outside of class but during class she was a different person. She often would join in on discussions and she was always good at restating class lectures or instructions. Auditory does not fit my learning style because it can be hard for me to stay and regain focus during a long lecture. Also, I like to see picture and diagrams to be sure I am visualizing the idea. If a student is neither a visual or auditory learner, then they will more than likely fall under the last learning
