The invention I have selected to research is Coca Cola, my paper will tell about the inventor, the history of the invention and how he came up with the idea, I will also be talking about when and where the inventor was born, when and where Coca Cola was invented and what inspired him to create Coca Cola? John S Pemberton was the inventor of Coca Cola he was the son of Clifford Pemberton and Martha L Gant, he was born in Knoxville Georgia, on July 8th 1831, he attended school in Rome Georgia and he went to college in Macon Georgia to become a pharmacist at Reform Medical College in 1850, he got his license to practice at the age of 19, he first practiced in Rome and then in 1855 he started a wholesale drug business specializing in medical remedies, …show more content…

One of his biggest accomplishments was his laboratories established in 1860 known as The Analytical and Manufacturing Laboratories of J.S. Pemberton and company of Columbus, Which is still running today in Atlanta Georgia, he also served in the Civil War with the Confederate Army, he was married Ann Eliza Clifford Lewis and they had one child, John S Pemberton died on August 18th 1888 at the age of 57 his cause of death was cancer. Coca Cola was invented in Atlanta Georgia in 1886 by John S Pemberton, he was looking for a new fountain drink, he created the syrup and took it to his local pharmacy where it was mixed with carbonated water and sold for five cents a glass, people sampled it and liked it very much it was delicious and refreshing, Pemberton’s book keeper suggested the name Coca Cola, his name was Frank M Robinson; the drink quickly grew and was advertised in the Atlanta Journal, in the first year Coca Cola sold around nine drinks per day, the first year it cost Pemberton more to make it than it sold for, Pemberton never realized how big Coca Cola would Dodd Page 3 become he slowly sold parts of his business to various partners and in 1887 he sold
