John C. Calhoun:

John C. Calhoun was born in Abbeville, South Carolina on March 18, 1782. Calhoun was known as the "cast iron man." His parents were Patrick Calhoun and Martha Calhoun. Most of his early childhood was spent on his father's plantation. He was educated at Yale University.

He was an American statesman and a political theorist. Calhoun is from the democratic party. He was known to be in the Nullifier Party. From 1811-1850 John was married to Florid Calhoun. He is an inspiration and shows leadership to others. From 1815-1850 Calhoun dominated American Political life. In 1817 he was secretary of war under president James Monroe. After he died, he still effected things in history. The united states senator of Missouri suggested that people should honor Calhoun's death. According to History.net.com the senator said, "He's not dead, sir- he's not dead. There may be no vitality in his body, but there is in his doctrines." Calhoun was known as a person of broad learning who was read well in history social issues. He also opposed the Mexican – American War and for that he was known as a leading voice for those seeking to secure the institution of slavery.

James F. Byrnes:

James F. Byrnes was born in Columbia South Carolina on May 2, 1882. His nickname was "Jimmy". He has a sister who has the same birthday has him – May 2 – but she was born in 1879. So he can work in the law office, Byrnes left school in the 8th grade. He attended six colleges which were Yale University, John Marshall College, University of South Carolina, Columbia University, Lee University, and Washington University. Byrnes of course studied law. Byrnes was married to Maude Busch from 1906 to 1972. He had no kids.

In 1908 he got elected to his first public office. He served as the United States congress in 1911 to 1925. Byrnes supported the new deal and Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed him to Supreme court. Roosevelt was also known as "FDR". After Roosevelt died he became secretary of
