Looking through the history, many facts told us the abilities like bravery, skill of organizing and creating can be the essential factors of becoming a great leader.Among the great military leaders of the U.S,, Grant is remembered for great leadership and successful strategy. Grant was born in Point Pleasant, Ohio, on April 27, 1822. His father Jesse Grant was a Whig with abolitionist sentiments. When he was young he has an unusual ability to work to control horses and became known as a capable horseman. Unlike his sister, Grant’s father never force him to have a religion, and also the fact show he don’t have any religion in his lifetime. When he entered West Point, he had been lax in his studies, but he achieved above-average grades in mathematics and geology. Also he famous in the school because of his horse riding skill. So after the war, and all the public think the government will use the gold to switch some money to mitigate the financial stress. So that time the price of gold were in the increasing trend，the Jay Gould and James Fisk as the most famous financiers in that time. They use money to store the gold and try to hinder the gold circulation. With the time went by， the market‘s requirement of gold will have explosive developing. Then they sale the gold, and make money. Their behavior hurt the weak gold market, Grant decide to sell a huge number of gold in low price to save the gold market.     In the beginning of the 1830s, the United States experienced a short period of expansion and a prosperous economy. Land sales, new taxes, such as the Tariff of 1833, and the newly constructed railroads brought a lot of money into the government’s possession; never before in the history of the country had the government experienced a surplus in its national bank. By 1835, the government was able to accumulate enough money to pay off its national debt. Much of the country was happy with this newly accumulated wealth, but President Jackson, before leaving office in 1836, issued what is called a Specie Circular. Many local and state governments liked to save specie, or gold and silver, and use paper money to take care of transactions. President Jackson, in his Specie Circular, said that the Treasury was no longer allowed to accept paper money as payment for the sales of land and the like. Most, if not all, of the country did not like this, and as a result many banks restricted credit and discontinued the loans. The effects of Jackson’s Specie Circular took effect in 1837, when Martin van Buren became president. All investors became scared, and in 1837, attempted to withdraw all of their money at once.
