Due to the Development of Part 1, Jem and Scout characters grow, tremendously, due to the people they have met and things they seen. These children learn a lot about, the community, social justice and courage and the lessons that they both faced changes them, Jem and Scout understand the world now. Over the course there are dramatic changes and behaviors, Jem and Scout have been through a lot as young children, they learn life lesson on their own. Jem and Scout learns a lot throughout the course they, find many ways to communicate with their surroundings and matures, due to their age. Jem is only four years older than Scout. They grew up knowing and understanding what courage is. Jem and Scout both at the beginning of the book were a young age and that's where their maturity comes into a play because they both face difficulties throughout the story and, as Jem Matures he wants to get into law just like his dad and Scout Learns how to show empathy towards others due to her not really showing a development as she was younger and her first time being in a school she and her teacher got into a confrontation and that's where her maturity comes. They both took time to see how important it is to change and to develop as young growing adults. By the end of the book Jem and Scout were still young and has shown how much they can be mature and understand life lessons. They give thanks to Mayella Ewell and Boo Radley for helping them show that they can at least learn from viewing and physically being in a predicament to show where their maturity lays
