In Macbeth’s case, his prophecy was that he would commit treason and become King as the witches told him. They also told him his downfall which made Macbeth feel like he had no control over his eventual fate. This goes to show his weak character in the beginning of the play. Unlike Jason, Macbeth does everything he can do sustain his prophecy and power on the throne by committing various murder schemes to cover up his wrong doings. Although he is eventually slayed by MacDuff, he shows a lot of character development throughout the play.
