Recommended: Contrasting viewpoints of the crusades

In Islam and Christianity, there is a diversity that happened inside both religions because of the different opinion the followers have after their founder died, in Islam, Muhammad and for Christian, Jesus. This difference makes a discord inside, for Islam the discord split into two, the Sunni and the Shiite but for Christianity they are the Orthodox Church, Catholicism, and Protestantism. While in Islam, both Sunni and Shiite have the same foundation and faith but the main point which makes them different is the political situation they both have. In Christianity, the three sects have some similarities and difference with each other, like the number of sacraments they have. Both the Orthodox and Catholics have seven sacraments (Baptism, Chrismation or Confirmation, Eucharist, Holy Orders, Holy Unction, Marriage, and Penance) while the Protestant only has two sacraments (Baptism and the Eucharist) . About 1.6 billion world populations are Muslims and 1.2 billion world populations are Catholics. Both Islam and Catholicism have a long history, from the day both religion revelations come until these days and also the confrontations that happen in the past. The most well-known confrontation that happened in the past between both religions is the Crusade which lasted for about 174 years, a war they fight to take over Jerusalem which is an important place for both religions.
