Is Vegetarianism Good or Bad?

It is hard living life to the fullest if people have to make decisions especially the big ones. Vegetarians always have to worry about their health and whether being vegetarian is the healthier choice. Some people say that vegetarians are the healthier choice, but there is some evidence suggesting that being a meat eater is much healthier. Some people go vegetarian for health and environmental issues, and some others take the historical side. Some people have had a hard time deciding whether or not it is either a healthy practice or a harmful practice. The three truths state that being a meat eater is not necessarily a bad thing but a great thing.
What about the plants point of view? When vegetarians kill and eats plants they are causing harm as well. Research has proven that plants respond electrochemically to threats and they also may feel fear. Every organism has to die in order for another organism to live. This is a natural part of the cycle of life and people have been eating meat for 2.3 million years. There is even some evidence that human taste buds have evolved to crave the savory flavor of meat (ProCon.org). Meat, when combined with high calorie low nutrient carbohydrates such as roots, allowed humans to develop into the most intelligent species. The recent development of genetically modified organisms (GMO’S) to produce crops such as soybeans and corn is disturbing because no one understands the health consequences that could accompany eating a diet rich in GMO crops (Hamilton). The American Dietetic Association (ADA) says there are roughly 2.5% Americans that are strictly vegetarian (Fastenberg).
