The quality of the internship experience to this point in the semester has been a great one. I have been learning to put the things that I have learned in school to practical use in the field of work. To see what I have learned in the class setting in use in the products that we use every day. Another thing that I have learned is that not everything I learn in school will be used in just one job. That the information I have learned in the classes that I have taken thus far are a very large umbrella of knowledge. That when I get a job for my career that it will be much more focused on a particular topic of some of the classes that I have taken. That is a great feeling to see something that was broken and repair it and put it back together and see it work in the end. Some of the areas I still need some refinement is in the process of troubleshooting the products for correct functionality. This is tough skill to acquire and become proficient in troubleshooting. In working with someone who has been doing it for 40 years I asked him how to get good at it and he said that it comes with experience and seeing different ways that the components are implemented into to circuits. So far the internship has helped me for work after collage by giving me an idea of what the industry does and that it isn’t always in a perfect environment that you get in the classroom setting. The industry is at a different level than school. But school has given me a great foundation to build for the future to be able to go in the field and learn what is needed for my career. There will be a learning curve when I go get my first job in the real world. It’s not that school is behind but that they teach a large umbrella for all industry but when you go forward you can say I learned about that and then I can build upon that foundation I got in
