The Pearl was written by John Steinbeck, a famous American author. The Pearl is a story about a man named kino that finds a pearl of the world who struggles to keep his family because of his greed and ends up losing his son and family. What is important in life to Kino changes over the course of the story and copes internal conflict
Before the pearl Kion’s family was the most important thing to him. “Last he turned his head to Juana”,his wife.Kino had the scorpion, had it in his fingers ,rubbing it to a paste in his hands .He threw it down and beat it into the earth's floor with his fist. “In Kino’s head there was a new song now, clear and soft ,and if he had been able to speak it he would have called it the song of the family”.Kino's family was the most important thing in his life until he finds the pearl of the world . …show more content…

“A thousand pesos was not to be thrown away it was comparative wealth to a man who was not wealthy and suppose kino took a thousand pesos”. Only yesterday he had nothing. After Kino found the peal it was the most important thing to him, then he throws the pearl back into the ocean and releases that the pearl is not more important as his family.
At the end of the story, Kino resolves his internal conflict by throwing the pearl back into the sea. Kino would always would walk in front of Juana, by the end of the story Kino and Juana would walk side by side to show that they are equal. Kino and Juana have to live with the loss of their new born baby Coyotito, and the pearl back into the sea. Kino has realized that the peal has taken Coyotito life so he threw it back in the sea.
