The original design was designated on May 25th 1785 for the new Spanish war by King Charles III. Before the Spanish war ensign it was plain white with the Spanish arms in the center. This flag became the flag for Spanish Navy buildings by the General Navy Regulations 1793. The colors of Spain’s national flag are red, yellow, and red and are formed in 3 horizontal stripes. With the yellow strip being double the size of the red strips it is located in the middle of the flag. Also in the middle of the yellow band there is the coat of arms of Spain. Another diverse looks of the Spanish flag is that it has the coat of arms includes the royal seal framed by the Pillars of Hercules. This event takes place in Pamplona, Spain in July. Citizens can run with the bulls on a cobbled road for a half mile that finishes in the bullfighting ring. Bullfighting is a national sport of Spain. It takes place in an open arena where a bull runs at a person called a matador. The objective is to not get killed by the bull but rather kill the bull with a sword. This event consists of three parts. The first part of the event is when the bull enters the ring and the matador waves a cape to get the bull to charge. This continues until the bull gets tired and starts to lower its head. While this is going on, people called banderilleros plant sharp short sticks in the bull to make it more lively.     A matador is a bullfighter whose task is to kill the bull. Although most may think Matadors are men, there are also many women who have become matadors and are killing bulls for a living as well. The matador wears a ceremonial outfit called traje de luces, or suit of lights and a montera, which is a traditional folk hat. The red cape that the bullfighters wave is a muleta and the sword used to kill the bull is called the estoque. Six bulls are to be killed by three matadors during the bullfight. Each encounter lasts about 15 minutes. The three matadors, each followed by their assistants, the banderilleros and the picadors march into the ring to the accompaniment of traditional march rhythm music. When a bull first comes into the arena out of the bullpen gate, the matador greets it with a series of manoeuvres or passes, with a large cape. Fighting bulls charge instantly at anything that moves because of their natural instinct. Unlike domestic bulls they do not have to be trained to charge nor are they starved or tortured to make them savage. Ticket prices for bullfights can range from just a few euros to over 100 euros, depending on the seating area. Shaded areas (Sombra) happen to be more expensive than sunny ones (Sol).
