McDonald's is a fast-food chain that was founded on the 15th of April 1955 in Illinois, United States by Raymond Albert Kroc. The American fast-food chain has become very successful as it has grown throughout the globe and the owners of the franchise have grown rapidly in wealth. A survey showed that McDonald’s is so famous that it’s more recognizable than the Christian Cross. Worldwide, the revenue of the entire company 17.18 million dollars per day. Despite this wealthy and well-known behemoth, the company is hiding what actually goes on behind the counter and the outcome that the food has to your health: the unhealthiness of the meals, the cruelty towards the animals and the negative impact on the environment. According to a website, ‘Brandon[Gaille]’ McDonalds French Fries are the most eaten vegetable in North America. The average American eats 13.8 kilograms of French Fries and, usually, the French Fries are just a side. Medium sized French fries contain approximately 43 percent fat and 52 percent carbohydrates, which would take around two hours of walking to burn off. The average American only exercises around 17 minutes a day, which indicates that they are not burning enough calories just from French Fries. Not only do French Fries increase obesity rates, they also increase death rates. A study showed that consuming at least two servings of French Fries a week doubles the risk of death due to the vast amounts of salt and fat. To add to this, a documentary about Morgan Spurlock consuming nothing, but McDonald’s for a month. In the documentary ‘Super Size Me’, Morgan Spurlock gained 11.1 kg’s, his body fat percentage ranged from 11% to 18% and his whole liver turned to fat.
